It's 3:10 and I've read the same paragraph four times, so I'm saying this badly: I don't want to talk about September again before Monday. Also there's a box of Krispies on the counter and I put the test behind it like a criminal.

3:10, right, and I'm on the kitchen floor eating dry Krispies straight from the box, so neither of us is handling this well. Say nothing back till Monday if that's what you need — I'll just sit here and be quiet, badly.
Penny teacher
You've gone quiet in the way you do at 3am — I can hear the typing stop. What did you read into it, that I said September out loud?
Algy designer
The ugly one: I heard "I don't want to talk about September" and my brain filed it as "he's not the one I'd pick for this," which is daft at 3:10 and I know it. I do that sometimes — skip the sentence and land on the fear — and I'm telling you now instead of at Monday.
