Chapter 36 · Month 21 · The Wedding

The Venue

Two venues, two prices, one honest opinion

Oldest line first — the newest line is at the bottom.

Penny teacher
Two brochures, two prices: the Mill Room at $1,900 with the long table, or Fennick's back room at $640 and his mother sitting near the door. I'd take the cheaper one and the better room, and I don't know if that's the money talking or me.
Algy designer
The ceiling in the Mill Room — you could hang the lanterns Mum's already bought, and then Susan's by a drafty door all afternoon. That's the bit I can't get past.
Penny teacher
You're doing the thing where you fix the door instead of saying what you want. Forget the photos — is the long table worth $1,260 of your deposit to you, honestly?
Algy designer
The table isn't; her being comfortable is. So — save the $1,260 and put it toward the July invoices, and I'll tell Mum she's at the near end of Fennick's back room.
