Right — before we get to any of that, Marion at the childminder's rang back on my lunch and she's booked out till January. Which is fine, except it means $310 isn't a number we can plan round any more, it's a wish.

She said the list's nine names long and she still wants the $120 registration fee on Monday, non-refundable, just to hold a place I might not use. I've got $64 in the account until the $820 lands — so can we agree I say no to Marion before the 27th and we do the sums together then?
