Chapter 82 · Month 39 · Starting a Family

The Misunderstanding

The first morning with no plan and nothing to organise

Oldest line first — the newest line is at the bottom.

Penny teacher
Form's on the table, pen's cold from the coat. I've started the mornings off my list entirely — no plan Saturday, nothing to organise.
Algy designer
No plan Saturday and I've already mentally scheduled it — that's the joke on me. Here's a solution that fixes nothing: I'll put "do nothing" on a list, with a starting time of 9am, and we ignore it loudly.
Penny teacher
Nine is fine, but you've gone quiet since the pen moved — what did you read into it? I asked for your name on the top line and got half of it and a stare at the kettle.
Algy designer
Because I read the form like it's a test I'll fail — I waited for the day you'd decide I'm the one who needs managing. That's on me, and I'd do it again Tuesday.
