Two things, and the second one's the big one: the mousetrap's still got its cheese and my mum's expecting eight on the 27th. The quote came in — $1,100, not the $1,240 one — and I've put it in box four.

Eight weeks of your unpaid leave, and the form still says whose name goes in the first three boxes. So which is it — we tell Susan about this now, or after the 27th when she's not counting heads?
Algy designer
Say it straight: put my name in box one and yours in two, because if I'm the one asking for leave then the leave's in my handwriting. Eight weeks is a long time to be the one not earning — I'll still take it, but say it's mine on paper where my mum can see it.
Penny teacher
Box one is yours, box two mine, and your mum hears it from you tonight before she counts another head. Now put the pen down and tell me which of us is telling her — because it isn't going to be me.
