Have you actually called the landlord, or is "the man on the internet" now our registered plumber? I'm asking because I have a cold shower and no hot water, and one of us should be on the phone.

I've rung twice — engaged both times — and my toolkit's a hammer and a receipt for £, sorry, $4.50. Look, I'm not signing up to be the phone person by default, that's a marriage thing and we've had the boiler four days.

Fine, I'll take the landlord and the boiler man for Monday, eight to twelve — and I remember you said your car door only works from the inside, so I'm not picturing you fixing anything. Next breakdown, you call. Deal?
