The Good News

The question of who takes the leave

Oldest line first — the newest line is at the bottom.

Algy designer
So the leave form — it's on the table, and there's a name line at the top I've left blank because I don't trust myself to fill it in right. It's yours to put down, or mine, or both under the £310 line.
Penny teacher
The form's on the table, then, and it's still got an empty name line at the top. Whose twelve weeks is this actually — yours off work, or mine signed up to cover the £310?
Algy designer
Mine off work — twelve weeks, my name and my handwriting, even if it looks like a spider fell in ink. Just, put the pen down a second: that's September sorted and October's invoices aren't in yet.
Penny teacher
Mine goes under yours as the one covering October, and I want your mum told first — she'll hear it in your voice, not mine. My dad once named a shed after himself and called it a loan, so I sign second and read it twice.
